Welcome to Indie Book Promo

If you're an author, you probably never imagined how much marketing awaited you. Most Indie authors soon realize that all marketing responsibilities rest solely on their shoulders. If you want your work to stand out above the hundreds of thousands of other self-published books, you’re going to have to prepare yourself for the ongoing process of self-promotion.

Many authors are excellent writers, yet are uncomfortable letting readers know just how awesome they are. It’s uncomfortable for most of us to toot our own horns. Likewise, many authors are overwhelmed with the marketing process or have no clue where to even begin. That’s where I come in.

I have over two decades of marketing experience. I’ve promoted a wide variety of clients over the years – photographers, musicians, politicians, non-profits, small businesses, grass roots organizations, authors and more. I know how to properly assess the needs of my clients and craft the perfect marketing campaign for each individual or business. I’m an author myself, so I understand what it takes to promote and sell books. I’m also a professional content marketer and copywriter, with extensive experience in press release, Web, advertising, newsletter, email marketing and other writing.

You’ll find that my services on the Indie Book Promo website are highly affordable. I recognize that authors have to be continually budget-conscious. I’m sure you’ll see that I’ve made a deliberate effort to offer my expert, professional services at the most reasonable cost possible. However, don’t make the mistake of thinking that you can get by with minimal marketing efforts. Implementing an effective book marketing campaign can be one of the smartest things an author can do. It can mean the difference between success and failure.

I’ve been promoting authors on my other website, eBook Review Gal (primarily a book review site), for several years. In an effort to better serve the marketing needs of authors, I've created the Indie Book Promo site. As my way to welcome you to my new website, my services are offered at greatly reduced fees. However, these reduced fees won’t be offered for very long. I do hope you’ll allow me to assist you with all your book marketing and promotional needs.

Thank you,

Susan Barton

Why Authors Need Websites

If you’ve written a book and want to share it with the world. If you think Facebook and Twitter accounts will suffice, think again. Maintaining an author website is absolutely essential book marketing tool. Why?

Author websites are one central promotional location

Facebook and Twitter are great social media marketing platforms, but if you don’t have an author website where will you direct followers who wish to find out more about you and your book? Sure, you could send them to Amazon or other online seller, but those platforms are far too limited to enable a comprehensive backstory, bio, media kit, etc.

You’re the boss

What you post, link, share, etc. is controlled solely by you. You never have to trim your info down to a mere 140 characters. Links are easily embedded and enabled to open in a new window (directing visitors to an outside page has the potential of losing them to cyber never land)

You can interact with current and potential readers 24/7

You can continue to network with readers long after they’ve visited your site if you’re smart enough to set up a newsletter sign up directly on your website. Newsletters have a high ROI, since anyone who signs up for your newsletter actually wants to read what you have to say. From there you can include discount codes and coupons in your newsletters to encourage book sales.

You can sell your book directly to readers

It’s simple to add a PayPal button on your website (unless you’re using, but there are ways around this). While you do have to match the Amazon list price of your book, you’ll receive all the proceeds of the sale – none of that royalty business.

You can easily share your events

It’s simple to announce any upcoming book tours, book signings, cover reveals, etc. on a media page. You can also add a convenient calendar to inform readers of your promotions.

If you’re an author, and you’re beginning to realize just how important an author website is to the marketing, promotion and sale of your books, but you have no idea where or how to begin don’t worry. Indie Book Promo offers a Basic Author Website Package. Find outmore here.
